My Dad was an adman and renowned for his ability to look at something and see what was there, what wasn’t there and, more importantly, what shouldn’t be there.
He would look at a page of print (we are talking 60s / 70s) and decide what to take out because he knew the white space on a page was just as important as the text and images.
Sometimes the best way to improve something is not to add more but to take something out. To improve a process, a product, a client relationship it is sometimes about what not to do.
